Countdown to Christmas: Gift Guide for Guys

December 10, 2018 0 Comments

Christmas is just around the corner and I am semi freaking out. Can’t believe this year has flown by as quickly as it did. 2019 is going to bring a lot of a changes, and in January, Kins, Char Bobby and I will be traveling for a crazy amount of time. I’m definitely trying to soak all the moments I can at home while things are still relatively calm.

I wanted to kick off this week with the people I find the hardest to gift: Guys. Luckily, Bobby isn’t very materialistic (and is so thoughtful/has already given us some gifts!), but I worked on this a little bit with him to see what would make good gifts for all guys in your world – fathers, in-laws, brothers, boyfriends, etc. Here are the top items we came up with!

Le Labo – Santal 33 – I shared on my story that I’ve been obsessed with Le Labo lately. Santal 33 is probably one of the most popular fragrances and is my favorite as well. It’s a unisex scent that is more on the masculine side. It’s molded after palo santo and has cardamom, sandalwood, cedar wood and leather; so it’s very earthy, but also super light and not too overwhelming.

Nintendo Switch – Is it me or has everyone been talking about this game console ever since Black Friday?  I love how nostalgic it is (yay, Mario Kart) and it’s gotten so many good reviews.

MVMT Watches (Use AMANDASTANTON for 10% off!) – Giving a watch for Christmas is such a classic! A chainlink watch that can’t be worn everyday and only for special occasions makes it even more sentimental. Take it a notch further and have it engraved like Carrie did on SATC (minus the Rolex part of course, haha!)

Herschel Duffel Bag – This is a great size weekender bag that’s good for quick getaways or even for a single sleepover night. Love how simple the design is and I’ve had Herschel bags before – love their quality and functionality.

Sony Soundbar –  Bobby and I do nothing but watch movies in theaters, so why not take it home? This soundbar creates a surround-sound atmosphere. I love this gift because it’s not something that I think guys would typically splurge on for themselves. It’s a thoughtful tech gift that actually ends up being useful for everyone in the house.

Ember Travel Mug –  Smart phone, smart watch… Smart mug? I was so intrigued when I first saw this at Nordstrom that I just bought it on a whim. Turns out, it’s actually one of the coolest concepts that can be appreciated by young professionals who work in an office or in corporate. You can electronically control the temp of your drinks (say bye to burning your tongue) and it makes for a really unique gift.

Echo Dot Mini Gen 3 – I add the Echo to last year’s gift guide too, and it definitely deserves a second cameo this year. I can’t believe how much it’s been updated since the first ones launched, so I’m thinking about upgrading too. These are only $30 (crazy!) and would be great mini speakers to put in additional places around the house.

23 and Me DNA test – This is another one of those gifts that most people don’t think about getting for themselves, but could really enjoy doing when it’s received as a gift. I’ve always wanted to dive deeper into my family history, so I think this would be a great and unexpected gift!

Since Christmas is approaching so quickly, I’ll be posting two different gift guides per day. Check in tonight for a second gift guide for new friends! Hope this gave you some great ideas! x Amanda
