Hey everyone! Hope y’all are having an amazing weekend. I had a crazy week. I flew to Maui on the 24th and came home the 28th..then flew to Vegas the next day to go see the Backstreet Boys opening night of their new show and flew home in less than 24 hours! So it’s safe to say I’m exhausted..but obviously worth it to see the Backstreet Boys haha! (the show was amazing, btw!) So I’m finally settled down and wanted to give you guys all the deets on our Maui trip from our resort, to our favorite places to eat and of course, all our outfits! We stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua. This property is incredible. The second we pulled up to the resort, we were greeted with lei’s and fresh pineapple. There’s a beautiful koi fish pond in front of the resort and they give you food to feed them. This was Kins and Char’s favorite thing to do every time we waited for our car to come to valet! The rooms at this Ritz are more like condos. It came with a kitchen, two bathrooms, a living room with a sofa bed, as well as a huge bedroom and walk in closet and a stunning ocean view. This made traveling with the kids so much easier and more comfortable. The entire property is gorgeous and peaceful. There are hammocks throughout the property overlooking the ocean and multiple pools including an infitini pool. There’s a trail down to a private beach and a little Burger Shack (with bomb sweet potato fries) that we walked to everyday. The first day, we hung out at the private beach at our resort. The water was a little rough so we took a shuttle about 2 minutes away (it is walking distance but we had our hands full) to Kapalua Bay. The water here is so calm so even the girls were able to snorkel. We saw so many fish and a family of TURTLES! They were huge too! We swam with them for a couple hours and it was amazing! The man who we rented the snorkel gear from said they are there everyday, so if you’re in Maui, go swim with them! The restaurant, Merrimans, at Kapalua Bay is a MUST for dinner. The next day, we headed into Lahaina for some lunch, shopping and of course Ululant’s Shaved Ice. I got half coconut, half pineapple with macadamia nut ice cream at the bottom. Life changing. A cheat day you won’t regret! Haha! The next day, we headed over to the Hyatt Regency in Lahaina. They have an amazing kids lagoon with water slides and other fun things for the kids. The girls made friends right away and played with them for hours. I’m so used to having a baby attached to my hip at all times so it felt weird having them go off with their new friends and do their own thing! I sat back and lounged in the cabana with a drink and watched them go down the water slide 150 times wondering when they got so big! Kind of bittersweet! Then at night, we went to the Luau at the Hyatt called Drums of the Pacific. Since we booked our trip to Maui, all Kins talked about was learning how to “hula” so she was beyond excited to go to a luau. And it did not disappoint! The dinner was great and the show was even better! It’s such a fun way to spend an evening in Maui that both adults and the kids will enjoy. On our last morning, we headed to breakfast at Slappy Cakes. So many people recommended this place to me so we decided to try it and LOVED it. There is a griddle in the middle of your table and you get to make your own pancakes. I’d love to know their secret because somehow these pancakes turned out 100 times better than the ones I make at home! The avocado toast was pretty amazing too! The girls and I both loved this place! The photos we took on the trip were taken by the amazing Chelsea Jean Photography (IG: @chelsea.jean) She also made the flower crowns we are wearing. She is incredibly talented so if you are ever in Maui and need family photos or flower crowns..she’s your girl!
